History:: The Stingrays first appeared on the scene in 1993 and were an instant sucess in the Palmetto state. They led the league in attendance that inagural campaign with an average of over 9,000 fans per contest. Always a strong team on the ice, the Rays enjoyed their ultimate success in 1997, when they became the first team to break the "curse of the Brabham Cup" by winning the regular season and playoff championships in the same season, defeating Louisiana in a thrilling final series.
