History:: The Bombers joined the ECHL for the 1991-92 season. The nearby Cincinnati Cyclones had shattered all of the league attendance records when they entered the league the previous season, so the ECHL decided to capitalize on a good thing and place 3 more teams in Ohio. Although the Cyclones have moved on to the IHL, the Bombers maintain strong rivalries with Columbus and Toledo, and have played consistently well to a steady fan base. They have never moved, and likely will not anytime soon, which is becoming a rarity in the league.
